Hi Everyone!
It has been far too long since our last post and so many exciting things have happened in the world of Grand Cayman diving here at Living The Dream Divers.
Last year was a phenomenal year for our Cayman diving friends and crew at LTDD. We bid a sad farewell to Ryan who was a fantastic crew member and a great asset to our team. He is a great instructor and taught many students while he was with us. Ryan’s ears wouldn’t cooperate so he decided to head home to dry out for a bit. He will be missed but we hope to see him back in the future for more outstanding Cayman dive instruction and fun on the boat. Good luck Ryan and thank you for all your hard work! xx
Phil Legg joined us last June and brings with him a bundle of PADI scuba diving certifications and a passion for instructing. He is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and has excellent control in the water. We are very excited to have him on the team and he is proving to be a great addition! Welcome to Living The Dream Phil 🙂
Our Dream Boat, our custom made, brand new Newton has had an outstanding year. It was almost exactly a year ago that she arrived on Grand Cayman and she has been diving every single day since. We are amazed everyday that she is ours! She takes our divers out in the ultimate safety and comfort, providing the most spacious and smooth ride to our Cayman dive sites. We have had the most amazing feedback from our guests who absolutely love being on board, making all our Cayman dive trips second to none. Taking such small numbers on board a boat of this size that was built for one thing and one thing only- DIVING! It certainly makes a huge difference and we are very thankful and proud of her. Another great addition to LTDD!
Living The Dream Divers now has a “home” and we are very excited about our new dive shop which is located in the heart of Seven Mile Beach above Yoshi Sushi, across from the Westin in the Cayman Falls Shopping Center. This gives us so much more space for our equipment, retail area and office. This will be a great place for our divers to stop in and watch Grand Cayman dive videos, check in and out, do some shopping, exchange diving stories and have a blast! We have been building out the inside and are looking forward to being open this season. Stay tuned for pictures and updates!
Now, for the most important updates!!!!! Cayman diving has been incredible this year with rare and unusual sightings as well as the usual suspects on every dive. We enjoyed diving the Northwall almost every day from May to October and were lucky to see schools of eagle rays, huge turtles mating, a manta ray, solitary male dolphin and explore some new Grand Cayman dive sites that were recently put in as part of our DIVE 365 initiative. We did not experience any coral bleaching over the summer which was great! This last week we were lucky enough to explore the beauty of the South Side where we saw nurse sharks, free swimming morays, lobsters, baby spotted drums on every dive and we were able to hunt for some lion fish.
Our passion for Cayman dive training- both new and experienced divers- exceeded all expectations this last year where we trained and certified new Rescue divers, PADI Divemasters and Mater Scuba Divers. Our continuing education with PADI Advanced Open Water courses was our biggest yet along with Specialities in Nitrox, Underwater Photography, Peak Performance Bouyancy and a lot of certified Lion Fish Trackers! If you have never tried scuba before or are looking to advance your skills, dive Cayman today! We teach Discover Scuba Diving courses daily along with Open Water Diver Certifications and can schedule your specialties and advanced courses that best suit your Holiday schedule.
Finally, we are very proud of some of our achievements this year in being awarded PADI’s Green Star for being an environmentally friendly Dive Operation and for the Cayman Islands Tourism Award for presenting Gary with Watersport’s Manager of the Year.
We are so excited for the upcoming seaosn and are looking forward to seeing all our repeat guests and welcoming new Cayman divers to our “Living The Dream family”.
Safe and Happy Diving,
The LTDD Team
